For Yamakara's「Yakushima Jomon Cedar Tour One-day」we provide exclusive access to the trailhead via a dedicated chartered bus.
This service is included with your tour booking, eliminating the need for separate bus reservations.

Information on Our Exclusive Chartered Bus Service
・We offer direct, round-trip transportation from your accommodation or a designated meeting point along the nearest prefectural road to the Arakawa Trailhead.
※Please note that our chartered bus service is separate from the Arakawa Mountain Shuttle Bus operated from the Yakusugi Museum. Please do not purchase tickets for the Arakawa Mountain Shuttle Bus.
・Please be ready at your assigned pick-up location at the indicated time to facilitate an on-time departure.
※Please arrive 5 minutes before the departure time.
※If you are not present at the specified meeting point at the departure time, your booking will be considered a same-day cancellation. Please be punctual.
※Please understand that departure and arrival times may vary slightly due to road conditions.
・If your accommodation changes after the tour, please inform us in advance.
・We would like to inform you that same-day flights off the island following the tour are likely not feasible. To ensure a smooth departure, please book your flight for the day after the tour or later.
・Even if you prefer to meet us directly at the location by rental car, advance notification is mandatory. ※Our meeting point will be in Makino (a vacant lot by Harumaki Simple Post Office)
＜Regarding personal belongings＞
・We cannot store luggage on the bus other than shoes to wear after the hike and bags for personal belongings.
※Please keep your shoes for after the hike and your personal belongings bag in the large black bag we provided for your rental equipment. Do not forget to take this bag with you after the hike.
・Suitcases and other large baggage can be stored on the bus only for those who are changing their accommodation after the tour.
＜About Rental Item Returns＞
・our guide will collect all rental gear at the trailhead after the descent.
※Kindly be informed that rental gear is promptly dispatched to another location after collection, making it impossible to retrieve any left-behind items. We ask for your kind understanding in this matter

For Customers Planning to Meet Us On-Site
≪For those participating in tours from March to November≫
・Due to vehicle entry restrictions, rental cars/private cars cannot access the trailhead during this period.
・Even if you wish to meet us by rental car, you will still need to transfer to our chartered bus at the 'Makino' bus stop.
・Even when meeting at 'Makino', a bus fee of 2,500 yen per person will still be charged.
≪For those participating in tours from December to February≫
From December to February, vehicle entry restrictions are lifted, so you can drive to the trailhead by rental car or private car.
・Customers participating in tours from December to February who wish to meet us on-site, please contact us at least three days prior to the tour.
・During December and February if you plan on meeting us on site with a rental car, please meet us at Arakawa Trailhead, not Makino.
・If you meet us at the trailhead, there is no bus fee.
・Please gather at the trailhead by 5:20 AM.
※From the prefectural road to the Arakawa Trailhead, the route becomes a mountain path.
Please be aware that driving before dawn involves navigating narrow, winding roads. Exercise extreme caution while driving.
During the winter months, road surfaces near the trailhead can become icy.
If you are not comfortable driving on mountain roads, please consider our paid shuttle service.
※If you wish to use our paid shuttle service, please contact us at least three days prior to the tour.
Vehicle Entry Restrictions and Mountain Climbing Buses

While the Arakawa mountain Shuttle bus from the Yakusugi Museum involves transfers at the bus terminal and waiting times, a chartered bus can take you directly from your accommodation or a designated meeting point along the nearest prefectural road to the Arakawa trailhead. This provides a smoother journey to the trailhead compared to the regular Arakawa mountain Shuttle bus (shuttle bus).
